Logistics Manager (Usana)

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team in the USANA India market as a logistics manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all product orders, receiving, inventory, warehousing, and shipping activities to provide exceptional customer service both internally and externally. You will ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective shipments of parcels to all customers, utilizing analysis and decision-making processes to meet inventory and customer service requirements. Moreover, you will ensure that all duties and responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the requirements established under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and USANAs SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

What You Will Do as a USANA Logistics Manager

Essential

  • Identifying vendors, selecting them, engaging in negotiations, managing contracts, and contribute to developing ways to reduce costs.
  • Prioritize and supervise daily work of the Operations team to meet operational demands such as customs clearance of incoming shipments, transfer of inventory from 3PM (3rd Party Manufacturers) to 3PL (3rd Party Logistics) partners, Associate/Customer shipments, proper documentation and ensure all USANA inventory are properly always accounted for.
  • Ensure the daily transfer of Associate/Customer orders are received by the 3PL company, fulfilled in a timely manner that adheres to the terms/metrics of the contract, ensure the data transferred back to USANA has all the required information and parcel shipments deliver to Associates/Customers in accordance with terms of the contract.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily work of 3PL and vendors, to ensure smooth operations, adherence to USANA quality standards, and that proper reporting to home office is managed.
  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy of inventory levels at the 3PMs, 3PLs and office, coordinate timely replenishments, execute inventory activities, and support required audits.
  • Ensure that delivery turnaround time adhere to company policies and meet the expectations of associates and customers.
  • Manage the logistics operations for special event (product launches, conventions, national celebrations, etc.)
  • Control the operation of logistic, shipment and quality procedures through forecasting sales/order trends, plans and designates operating hours and personnel rosters.
  • Address concerns from the sales force in close collaboration with the customer service and sales team regarding product quality, missing deliveries, shortages, and other related issues.
  • Coordinate and work closely with the Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service teams on all promotion activities and new product launches to ensure successful implementation.
  • Achieve strong coordination and cooperation throughout the business through effective communication, reporting and management systems.
  • Monitor order (Auto-Orders/Pick Orders) statistics and delivery costs and adjust processes and resources to minimize costs. Develop Metrics and report results as needed/required.
  • Establish and maintain SOP’s, standard operating procedures.
  • Drive work, health and safety standards and implements safety changes where required.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and federal rules and regulations – environmental, safety, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance team regarding India Financial Audits, ensuring effective and accurate compliance management.
  • Ensure security, maintenance and services of the local office meet the needs of the Company.

  • Travel domestically and internationally on weekends and nights as required at USANA/Associate events.
  • Perform other duties or ad hoc projects as assigned or needed.

Background and Skills You Will Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial/supervisory capacity, demonstrating extensive supply chain management experience and a proven track record, preferably in the direct selling industry.
  • High proficiency in written and verbal English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of work, health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with Oracle or other inventory systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills with a lateral thinking mind.
  • Must be detail-oriented and results-oriented, experience working in complex environments and ability to work autonomously.
