Mechatronics Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join our steel drums and barrels manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and equipment used in our production processes. This role requires a blend of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering skills to optimize our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and implement automated systems and robotics for the production of steel drums and barrels
2. Integrate mechanical, electrical, and control systems to improve manufacturing efficiency
3. Troubleshoot and maintain existing automation systems and equipment
4. Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for automated equipment
5. Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems
6. Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
7. Collaborate with production teams to understand needs and develop automation solutions
8. Ensure all automated systems comply with safety standards and regulations
9. Provide technical support and training to operations staff on new and existing systems
10. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in automation and mechatronics
11. Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance production processes
12. Document technical specifications, system designs, and maintenance procedures

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering
2. 3-5 years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in manufacturing environments
3. Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens)
4. Experience with robotics and motion control systems
5. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP)
6. Familiarity with CAD software for mechanical and electrical design
7. Understanding of sensors, actuators, and other automation components
8. Experience with SCADA systems and data acquisition
9. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
10. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
